Where should I look to find high-deductible health insurance plans to cover only major illnesses/injuries?

Neal asked:

My local Blue Cross Blue Shield is what nearly everyone in my area has. They do not offer any high-deductible plans that cover only major illnesses/injuries. All their plans cover everything from sprained ankles to the common cold. As a result, all their plans are unreasonably expensive for what I want.

I don’t need or want to pay for coverage for every little thing. I just want coverage for major things costing many thousands of dollars (e.g., cancer, a broken neck, etc). I’ll use a Health Savings Account for common everyday health care.

Where should I look for this kind of coverage? If no local health insurance companies are offering it in my area, can I buy it from some national or out-of-region company?

Thanks!
