divorce law, please help me?
DJ[MAZJHICK] asked:
i cant afford to get a lawyer just for a few questions so im hoping someone can give me some tips. so my husband and i are getting a divorce in the state of hawaii (we live there), we cant come to an agreement on spousal support.
i need health insurance but my husband is not willing to pay for it. i have to raise two kids, one being young and the other is almost going to college. i have a medical condition that i will have to live with for the rest of my life. i cannot work a lot due to back problems and my earning potential is not so great.
what can i do if my husband does not want to pay for my health insurance? im not willing to accept the spousal support offer unless my health insurance is paid too. also, the court does assess your assets and financial resources, do they check your bank records? if there is a savings account for college, do they take that into consideration too?

An agreement with him it will be affected more than what you but the child if your employer.
Write down all your questions and call up lawyer referral or legal aid – and since you have a disability you might get low income assistance. But call your county and see what options you have with legal assistance. Don’t sign anything without talking to a attorney. If you husband has the income – he might even end up paying your legal fees. Good luck.
