Take seasonal job or become STNA and get real job?
Well, after weeks of trying, I finally landed a job at Toys R Us as a cashier-it’s just until January. I am a 46-year-old mom who needs to go back to work to help support her family. Anyway, I have also noticed that there have been numerous openings locally for STNAs, or State Tested Nursing Assistants. (You know, the home health care aids or nursing home aids.) There is a class starting in two weeks which cost six hundred dollars to train to be an STNA. We have enough in our savings account to afford this class. If hired, I could make between $9 and $11 per hour, versus the little over $7 per hour I was offered at Toys R Us, plus it would be a permanent position. What should I do?

I have gotten a job in my home town as a housekeeper at the local hospital but thers a problem?
The problem is that it wont pay a lot, $10hr, I will have to live with my mother, I will also have to take over my grandmothers care. My brothers wife does not like the idea and if I take it I will not be able to move back in with them if I end up getting a job where they live. My brother is also concerned that this job will limit my job options later on as I have experience inmanagementt and myBS BAA. I amafraidd not to take it cause I only have 12 cents in my checking account and 3 cents in savings. Everyone wants me to stay with my brother but if I do that I will have to drop my cell phone, get rid of my car, drop my health insurance, and have my student loans go to collections (they are private loans and I am out ofdefermentss at the end of June) and I will be living souly off of my mother and brother to the tune of $200-300 a month. So do I go ahead and take the get me by job till I can find a better one and hope my brother will let me come back or do I live off my mother and hope to God that my ship comes in by the end of the month?

Husband quit job and now can not find work. Can he collect?
I live in Pennsylvania and about a year and a 1/2 ago before the economy hit bottom my husband quit his job due to health problems and is now feeling better and is looking for work but can not find a job anywhere. When he was out of work the only income we had was mine and our savings account and we are now running low on funds and he can not find a job anywhere. He has been going thru temp agencies and everything to look for a job and there is nothing in our small town. Would he be able to collect unemployment until he finds a job?
We have applied for food stamps, welfare and they said I make too much money. My husband also does not have health insurance because for me to add him to my insurance it would be over $400.00 extra a month and we no way can afford that we really have no money at all at the end of the month.

which job should i take? -long- help?
i have two jobs that i’m fairly sure will offer me a position. the first is at a holistic pet food store that i’m sure would be a lot of fun. it has a casual atmosphere and pays a little more than minimum wage (about $2/hr more than the second). however, it is only a part time job (that wants a flexible schedual so i don’t think taking them both is an option) and they don’t offer real healthcare benefits, more like a savings account. i have a trial shift with them next tuesday and i’m sure they’ll love me.
the second is at barnes and noble. i’ve worked there before and left on good terms so i don’t think getting back on would be a problem. i have an interview with them tonight. they pay minimum wage, but i’m pretty sure i’d get more hours. they’re more of a corporate (not “fun”) atmosphere, but they do have health benefits after i’ve worked there a while.
also, i would like to start school either at the end of september or the beginning of next year. but i think it would only be probably 2 classes.
what do you think i should do? would it be worth it to **** it up and take the boring job in order to get healthcare and more hours? or should i take the more enjoyable one with less hours?
I **** SPAM!!! why does it always target this section of yahoo answers?
i am young, but married. i make the majority of the money because my husband goes to school full time and has a weekend job. so i can’t really rely on parents to take care of me.
