If a savings account is close due to insufficient funds, will it report and red flag a minor?
Newflover01 asked:
I had a savings account and it was closed because the person that cosigned for me made the account negative. Will that report to my credit and red flag me and prevent me from opening another account? Like i said, im a minor yet, and was told that it will not. I just want to be sure.

How can we open a savings account for a grandchild without having to provide original birth cert as ID?
susie x ??? asked:
My husband has tried to open bank account for the first grandchild but they want so much ID which, living quite a distance from the family we have no access too, besides, we wanted it to be a surprise.
There wont be much money going in the account but over the years it will mount up.
We wanted the child’s tax free savings account.
Is there any way around this?

Question about moving out, genuine advice appreciated?
Kailey
asked:
I am nineteen years old, turning twenty in August, and I’m in my fourth semester of college. I am almost finished with my associates degree in general studies. Currently, my boyfriend is living with my mom and I. She’s a single mother and I am the only child, and she doesn’t particularly “like” my boyfriend. He is a really nice guy who goes out of his way to make me happy and she’s doing everything she can to physically keep me here, mostly psychologically controlling me. She tells me that I won’t have any health insurance and that I won’t be able to afford my monthly rent/car payments. She also tells me that my car title can’t be transferred over to my name until it is entirely paid off (which I’ve been told is not true), even though I have good credit. Since she refuses to help me financially once I move out, I don’t know how to deal with that unless I save up for my own vehicle. Whenever I try to have a civil conversation with her about possibly getting my own place, it turns into her yelling at me “Go then! Have fun! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!” I work at Outback Steakhouse part-time (about 25-30 hours a week) and my boyfriend is also a server at the same restaurant. Her threatening the lack of health care had me worried about lack of medical coverage, but now that the health-care reform has passed, that’s one less thing to worry about. Upon bringing up the reform to her, her response was “I doubt EVERYONE will have health care.” When I asked who wouldn’t be covered, she ignored me. I think I’m finally ready to consider moving out once and for all, at least by the time I turn twenty. I know my mother will continue to be bitter about this, as she is extremely lonely and doesn’t spend much time with her friends these days, so she’s doing anything she can to keep me here. She is especially angry that I am considering moving out with my boyfriend and sharing a place with him. She feels like I am “choosing” him over her, when really, it’s just a part of life and moving out with him would be a lot easier than struggling all alone. My main question is: She has funds in the Florida Prepaid College Program for me and I have been using it throughout my college experience as I don’t have any scholarships and haven’t applied for any loans. I was wondering, does anyone know if she would be able to drain this account or prevent me from using it? I’m sure she has some sort of authority over it as she is the one who has set it up and been putting money in it all these years. I am appreciative of her, but the more controlling she becomes, the more I realize I eventually have to get my own place. It’s causing me so much anxiety and it’s really hard to deal with on a day to day basis. Also, any advice on my situation is appreciated. Thank you!

Question about an accrual account and business checking account?
Dee Dee asked:
My familiy owns 50% of a business, and there is a business partner who owns the other 50%. Due to health issues the business partner is selling her half. She has decided that when she sells, she is taking the contents of the accrual account and the checking account (and possibly any other savings). This seems extremely wrong, and possible illegal to me. Can anyone tell me if this is in fact something that shouldn’t happen, and what we can do to stop it? Thank you very much.

Is there a way to save invoices digitally with a phone or some other Scanning device?
golf_grill_blues asked:
Our company is changing health coverage to Health Savings Accounts. This will require individuals to maintain records themselves and store them for some time till you have enough money in the account to pay for them. Is there some way to save the receipts digitally at the point of purchase so to have the receipts. Would a Cell phone picture do this or is there a portable scanning device that you could use to scan the receipt to a pdf that you can store on your computer?
