NEW SAVINGS ACCT.DOES CREDIT MATTER?
I want to open up a new savings and checking account (probably at chase or citibank in NYC)
I havent had either in about 4-5 years since i became gravely ill
now with a clean bill of health i’d like to get my life & finances back in order….
but I do have a bit of credit debt (its roughly 3 grand) but i now have steady employment and am paying it off….
but i heard that its hard to get a bank account with bad credit????? is that true?

I think my credit score is like 540. I am a veteran so i can use the va home loan. please read on?
I just started working as an over the road truck driver so i dont have a physical address. Around July or August I would like to get a home loan for a duplex… by that time I estimate that I will have $15,000 in savings. I am currently making about $40,000/yr.
What can I do to raise my credit score within the next 8 months? I will have had no late payments within the past 12 months but my only bills are my sprint account, auto insurance, sirius radio, visa, and mastercard (and maybe health insurance but that is taken directly out of my paycheck). If I paid my dad like $50 a month for rent would that help improve my chances of getting a loan?
I am looking at buying a duplex that costs between $80,000-$100,000. thanks for your answers!

calling all credit experts(applying for credit cards + collection services)?
I am 19 years old with 2 credit cards right now, one I have had over a little over a year(bank of america) and the other is about 4-5 months(pay pal, no bonuses), I plan to apply for another pay pal credit card
I have had a savings and checking account since I was 16
about 6 months ago the collection services put a unpaid balance of 302 for AnMed hospital
bascially what happended I went to my free college health clinic, the doctor forced me to go to the hospital. They put a IV in me they said the ambulance workers would put one in but it would hurt so I let them. I had my dad with me he said he could take me but the doctor at the health clinic did not allow him and said it was standard procedure to go in the ambulance.(all for a pain in my throat) The ambulance workers took the IV out and put another one in and took me to the hospital. I waited 2-3 hours before seeing a doctor he ran tests and said nothing was wrong! 3-4 months ago the collection agency filled a report against me, how would this effect my credit score as well?
I called DataTrek the person said if I pay the collection filed will not be deleted it will only reflect a clear balance and it will increase my credit score
current my score is 602
I paid this bill to AnMed today so how much would it also increase my credit score
and went should I apply for the paypal credit card, i have paid all bills in advance or on time, i have already been with pay pal for about 4-6 months

I really messed up when I settled with these credit card companies, didn’t I?
I am a newbie at credit card settlements.
Here is what I did so far
Chase settled at 40%
Citi Cards settled at 57%
Citi Health settled at 57%
HSBC settled at 65% (TOO HIGH)
GE MONEY BANK at first i took their settlement offer of 70% but I quickly called them back and cancled it and they agreed to cancel. What was I thinking.
Discover won’t settle (any ideas on Discover)
Capital One……I have two accounts with them for $3000.00 each at credit limit, I have payment protection and I was approved, both accounts are going to be paid off in full. I saved $6000.00
Any ideas? Did I settle too early? The only goood one was Chase? I stilll can make GEMONEY a good one right?

I have a different signature for different things?
I’m 15 years old and I’m worried that this might cause me some trouble in the future.
When I got my passport a few years ago, I was about 11 years old and I didn’t really know how to do my own signature yet, so I just simply wrote my first and last name in cursive.
When I got my own debit card a few months ago (I got an account so I could save my money), I also didn’t know how to do my own signature at the time, so I just scribbled down my first name.
When I went to renew my health card a couple weeks ago, I tried practicing my signature, and signed my first and last name, but it looked way different than the one for my passport and debit card.
I’ll try practicing how I did it the last time, for my health card, so I’ll be able to do it the same everytime, but can my other signatures cause me any trouble in the future?
Thanks.

How were your finances when you were in your late 20s?
i find that their are people in the mid to late 20s who have wondeful credit AND a hefty saving account, but then there are people who have horrible credit and NO savings accout–just wondering what is normal to have in your mid to late 20s.
i’m 26.
i have a car payment (200 a month, no interest) and student loans (30,000). i paid off all my credit card bill. i only have 300 in my savings. my credit score is 720. i live in an apartment. i make 31000 ( i work for non-profit–mental health). i live in an apartment with my fiance and son (unplanned, but welcomed). and i’ve been out of my house since 23 (graduated college at 22; during college, i lived on campus). i’m just wondering if i’m really far behind for my age group.

I got injured with no health insurance, so now I have a financial evaluation appointment at the hospital?
I have a financial evaluation appointment at the hospital to see how much I can pay for my hospital bill (I got injured with no health insurance), the hospital bill came out to $5,000. I make $1000 p/month almost minimum wage in Florida, and I have a lot of expenses. I want to set up a payment schedule with the hospital where I can pay about $20 p/month. I have a bank account with some savings (roughly $5,000), will I be forced to pay the hospital bill in one lump sum with the money from my bank account or will they let me set up a payment schedule? Do I have to tell them that I even have some savings in a bank account?
P.S. When you set up a payment schedule, do they charge interest on that?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Should an application to deposit (not borrow) money at First American Bank affect my credit score?
Bank of America® Privacy Assist® (which I obtained free as part of the settlement of a class action suit; I would not have paid for it or accepted the “free” trial that they offer) is saying that
1) “You applied for credit 1 time(s) in the past 12 months, as recorded in this credit report…This lowers your score.” This is listed first under “the top factors that lower your score”.
2) The only “Inquiries” is
FIRST AMBK
Date: 08-2007
3) The “Creditor Information” on my credit report includes
FIRST AMERICAN BANK
Address: 639 N. FAIRBANKS COURT
CHICAGO, IL 60611 Telephone: (847) 952-3700
First American Bank is not a creditor of mine and I did not apply for credit from them.
I did apply for an Health Savings Account (HSA) at First American Bank in 8/07, but that is a deposit, not a loan.
Should this affect my credit score in this way?
Because I did not apply for credit from First American Bank, should I dispute the incorrect information?
