Is it feasible to find 100 families to put $100 a month in a savings account to pay for medical expenses?
Its just an idea I had, wondered if it would work, if its legal, etc. My family has no health insurance, and I am sure that there are many other families out there in the same boat. We have no major medical issues, just checkups, physicals, dentist visits, etc. And I would like to have something to fall back on just in case of an accident or catastrophic illness. I know there would be obstacles, who would run it, how to pay the bills, who to let in, how to find replacements, but if it worked…..

Should Congress pass Bush’s health care proposal from last night?
Here’s the transcript of his health care plan from last night’s State of the Union:
“BUSH: So I propose ending the bias in the tax code against those who do not get their health insurance through their employer. This one reform would put private coverage within reach for millions, and I call on the Congress to pass it this year. Congress must also expand health savings accounts, create association health plans for small businesses, promote health information technology and confront the epidemic of junk medical lawsuits.”
Obviously, other proposals (such as Universal Healthcare) cannot realistically be achieved until after the election (if Congress sent Universal Healthcare to Bush, he’d veto it). However, wouldn’t this help out in the meantime until other proposals can be passed? Is there anything in Bush’s plan which would be worse than the status quo?
